What’s Happening: Paint Out Pollution, 2nd Saturdays in Suffolk and Kayaking Tour

Paint Out Pollution: Saturday, July 14

Paint Out Pollution is a project created by the James River Association and Art on Wheels. They’re looking for volunteers to install art on storm drains using spray paint and stencils in the city of Hampton. The goal is to increase public awareness of storm water pollution and create an appreciation for the species that call the James River home.

When: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: Downtown Hampton Development Partnership (710 Settlers Landing Rd.)
Cost: Free Admission

2nd Saturdays in Suffolk: Saturday, July 14

From sun up to sun down, there are activities planned throughout downtown Suffolk. From the farmer’s market, to bounces and games for the kids, to live music and endless food trucks.

When: 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Where: Downtown Suffolk (Along Main Street)
Cost: Free Admission

Kayaking Tour: Saturday, July 14

Non-profit the Elizabeth River Project is offering a guided paddle through the largest restored wetland in Virginia that’s open to the public for paddling. They provide the clear-bottomed kayaks, paddles, life jackets and tour guide.

When: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Where: Paradise Nature Creek Park
Cost: Free Admission
