VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — It’s baby season and Wildlife Response is getting a large number of calls about orphaned animals. Opossums are being rehabilitated the most. They are also the most misunderstood.
Jen Lewis visited Suzanne McBride who has been rehabilitating wildlife for 20 years. She cleared up several misconceptions and provided a great education about the little marsupials.
Wildlife Response treats injured and orphaned animals native to our area in order to release them back into nature. The rehabbers spend thousands of dollars of their own money to do it because of their dedication to the creatures in their care.
If you see an animal you think might to be helped, call the Wildlife Response Hotline 543 7000
