NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Granby Street Bridge is about to undergo major renovations this spring.
According to the City of Norfolk, the crossing over the Lafayette River needs repairs to several key structural components. This work will extend the life of the bridge.
The project is estimated to cost between $6-7 million and will be 98 percent federally funded.
Construction work will impact traffic, but the city says one lane in each direction will remain open. The bike lane over the bridge will be temporarily closed, though.
The City is holding three community information meetings about the upcoming construction.
