WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) – Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country are taking an extra step to be environmentally friendly.

The company is removing foam dinnerware products from all of their dining operations and replacing them with products made from 100% recycled material. That change is being made to bowls, plates and trays at all 12 of its theme parks.

With millions of meals served each year, you can imagine this will make a big impact.

Foam products are not biodegradable, and this will help reduce the amount of these products that end up in landfills and the ocean.

The change will happen when the park opens for the season later this month.

This announcement comes less than a year after the company decided to no longer provide single-use plastic straws and coffee stirrers at its parks.
