A Llama, A Snake, Oh My!

Witnessing The Hampton Roads show on Facebook live, a llama in the studio, and Digital Day are only some of the highlights of the last two weeks interning at Wavy. Each day is a different experience and memorable in its own way. And, I always learn something new about television and news production.

First, witnessing The Hampton Roads show live on Facebook from Harborfest was a whirlwind. Pirates, mermaids, artists and comedians were only part of the craziness that ensued during the show. There was a mass of people running around doing their jobs in ninety degree heat. A plethora of guests, and then our two lovely anchors who were doing their jobs as if the craziness wasn’t happening around them. It was amazing and overwhelming to see all of the hard work that goes into an hour long show.

Then, I walk into work and there’s a llama in the studio!! It’s always something new in the studio which is one of my favorite parts of interning here. Then, I had the opportunity to learn all about the digital news. We walked into the bustling news room where we learned about press releases, news writing, and the HR On The Scene. It was a great opportunity to be able to see another department and have a hands on learning experience in the studio.

I can’t wait to see what the next two weeks will bring!
