Brett Hall joined the WAVY-TV 10/FOX43 team in March 2018.
Brett comes to Hampton Roads from Syracuse, N.Y. where he spent more than two and a half years as a reporter for WSTM-WTVH-WSTQ-TV and CNYCentral.com.
While in N.Y., Brett became known for his enterprise reporting. He launched and produced a series titled “Tear it Down or Fix it Up?” where prominent community eyesores were investigated. In some cases, the stories spurred action in the form of demolition or property clean up. He was nominated as Best Reporter in 2017 by the Syracuse New Times.
Prior to his move to upstate N.Y., Brett reported for Washington, D.C.-based WNEW-FM NewsRadio99.1. He worked out of the station’s Baltimore Bureau at WJZ-TV. It was there Brett reported on the aftermath of the Baltimore riots that took place in the wake of the death of Freddie Gray in 2015.
Brett has also served as a personality, news reporter and traffic anchor on WWMX-FM, WLIF-HD2, WDEL-AM, WXCY-FM and WHFC-FM.
He is a proud graduate of the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism. Go Terps!
Outside of work, Brett is an active member in the Society of Professional Journalists. He also loves spending time outdoors either on his kayak or bike (usually in search for the best local eateries.)
He was born and raised in Bel Air, Maryland.
