Salt Ponds Beach, Hampton: Bacteria exceeds safe levels (issued 8/21/19)
Chowan River: The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services are warning the public to stay out of Chowan River near Indian Creek due to an algal bloom producing the highest levels of toxin this year.
Test results show the algal bloom is producing microcystin at levels greater than 620 micrograms per liter.
