911 was down in Dare, Tyrrell and Hyde Counties for 2 hours

DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) – The 911 emergency lines have been restored for Dare, Tyrrell and Hyde counties.

Dare County Emergency Management sent an alert via Twitter at 2:47 p.m. Thursday saying the lines were down and asking people to call the non-emergency dispatch line at (252) 473-3444 instead.

At 4:41 p.m., they sent a follow-up tweet with the good news that 911 had been restored.
