RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Ron Paul, the Republican former Texas congressman whose libertarian streak won enthusiastic adherents for his failed presidential campaigns, is endorsing Republican Ken Cuccinelli for governor in Virginia.
Paul announced his decision in an open letter to Cuccinelli on Friday.
In it, Paul praises Cuccinelli's first-in-the-nation lawsuit states filed in 2010 challenging the new federal health care reforms as unconstitutional.
He said Cuccinelli's swift stand against what he called "Obamacare" proves he'll "stand up to Washington's continued abuses on our individual liberties."
