CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A driver was issued a summons this weekend after crashing into a Chesapeake police officer’s car.
Around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, an officer was driving down Cedar Road near Country Club Boulevard. According to a police spokesperson, the officer slowed down to allow geese to cross the road when a car crashed into his vehicle from behind. Police said there was heavy damage to both vehicles.
The driver who crashed into the police car was issued a summons for following too closely. Police said the driver was not taken to the hospital.
The police spokesperson said the officer who was involved did not lose consciousness, and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Norfolk Police are investigating the cause of death for male found unconscious on the beach.
