SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Deputies in Southampton County seized a ‘substantial amount’ of heroin during the execution of a search warrant Thursday.
Det. Scott Griffith with the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office said Cecil Ennis, 37, was arrested Thursday at a home on Askew Street. Ennis was wanted on two counts of probation violation and on count of heroin distribution.
During the arrest, deputies conducted a search and seized the heroin, a firearm and various other items connected to drug distribution.
Additional charges are pending.
Camden County Sheriff Tony Perry said that during the last two weeks, incidents of breaking and entering and home or vehicle larceny have increased in two areas of the county.
