WEST KUTAI, Indonesia (NBC/RTV) - Sumatran rhinos were once thought to have been wiped out in eastern Borneo, but trap camera footage has shown that at least one still survives there.
The World Wildlife Fund says this footage captured throughout the summer has given them hope for the survival of the rare rhinos and also highlighted the need to protect them.
The Sumatran rhino is the smallest rhino species. They once roamed the wilds across Southeast Asia.
But according to the WWF, there are believed to be fewer than 300 surviving in the wild today.
