LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (CNN/SCOTT ARMSTRONG) - A New York man took top honors this weekend for growing Long Island's largest pumpkin ever.
The ginormous gourd tips the scales at 1,456 pounds.
Scott Armstrong says it took him five months to grow the pumpkin in his backyard.
As big as this pumpkin is, it's still not the record.
That honor belongs to a Rhode Island man who grew a 1-ton pumpkin last year.
