NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Two northbound lanes of Granby Street will be closed for some time after a crash caused a power shortage early Friday morning.
The crash occurred around 4:40 a.m. in the 5700 block of Granby street, Sgt. Major Garris told WAVY.com. The vehicle struck a pole and busted a water pipe. When WAVY.com crews arrived on scene around 5:45 a.m., they found the street in total darkness.
The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries. Charges are pending.
Two right, northbound lanes of Granby Street were closed as Dominion Virginia Power crews work to restore power, affecting bus routes. Hampton Roads Transit tweeted that two routes were affected , but detours were in place.
Motorists in the area were detoured to Willow Wood Drive and Tidewater Drive. The southbound lanes remained open.
