Virginia Beach, VA (WAVY) - Most amateur golfers can only dream of what Brinson Paolini has accomplished so far in his career. A two-time state champion at Cox High School in Virginia Beach, Paolini has added four Virginia State Golf Association Amateur titles to his resume, while twice earning the title of All-American at Duke University.
As a senior for the Blue Devils, Paolinia also took home the Byron Nelson Award, given to the golfer who displays excellence on the course and in the classroom. After all that, Paolini's ready to take the next big step.
"Ever since I was a little kid I dreamed of playing this game professionally and now it appears to be very near and imminent," Paolini said on Tuesday. He soon plans to play in Switzerland, and will try for his PGA tour card both in the United States and in Europe.
Paolini's fourth VSGA title on Saturday came in the tournaments centennial year at the Homestead Country Club.
"The VSGA has meant so much to me over the years not only as a player but also as a person." shared Paolini, "It also gave me a chance to make friends that will last over a lifetime.
"To be able to win the tournament in its centennial event was very special."
