WASHINGTON (AP) - The Hachette Book Group is recalling about 70,000 children's books because of risks of cuts and choking.
The company said the books, titled "Count my Kisses, 1,2, 3" and "Red, Green, Blue, I Love You," have a metal rod that holds small beads on the books' covers. The rod can detach and release the beads, posing a choking hazard. The rod could also cause cuts.
No incidents or injuries have been reported.
The "Count my Kisses, 1, 2, 3" books have ISBN: 978-0-316-13354-8. The "Red, Green, Blue, I Love You" books have ISBN: 978-0-316-13353-1.
The books were sold at Barnes and Noble, Amazon and by other booksellers and retailers from June to August for about $8.
Consumers should immediately stop using the books and bring them to where they were purchased for a full refund.
For further information, Hachette can be contacted at (888) 965-5802 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or online at www.hachettebookrecall.com .
