NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - A Nelson County teen has been missing for more than three days, and law enforcement is asking for the public's help to find her.
Alexis Tiara Murphy,17, was last seen Saturday around 7:15 p.m. wearing a pink blouse, floral-print spandex pants and brown boots. She was also carrying a dark and light colored grey purse. Her family says she was heading to Lynchburg to go shopping.
Charlottesville Police found Murphy's car in the old Carmike Theatre parking lot Tuesday evening -- a white 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE SE with Virginia license plates (WYN-3706) -- but did not find her.
Murphy is described as being a black female with black hair and brown eyes. She stands about five feet, seven inches tall and weighs about 156 pounds.
The FBI, Nelson County Sheriff's Office, Virginia State Police are all investigating Murphy's disappearance. More than 50 officers and analysts are searching for her.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has a link associated with Murphy that can be shared.
