EMPORIA, Va. (WAVY) - One man died after the truck he was driving ran off the road and overturned.
Crews responded to Route 58 in Southampton County just before noon for the accident. An international truck, owned by TME Enterprises, Inc. was driven by Virginia Beach resident Roscoe F. Hatten, III.
State Police say Hatten was traveling eastbound when his truck came upon another vehicle and tried to switch lanes. He lost control of his truck, ran off the road and overturned. The cab of the truck was crushed during the incident, killing Hatten at the scene.
Hatten was wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
