AMBRIDGE, Penn. (NBC/WPXI) - A guy goes in to rob a convenience store, but the clerk turns the tables when he pulls out his own gun.
The stunning surveillance video shows 42-year-old James Hayes, entering Moh's Market outside of Pittsburgh Saturday and pulling out a gun in an attempt to rob the store, police say.
But then the clerk calmly reaches down and pulls out his own gun. The men argue and a fight breaks out with the clerk knocking Hayes to the floor.
In the video, you can see the clerk standing over Hayes, who later leaves the store. Police arrested Hayes a short time later.
A police officer praised the clerk, saying things could have ended badly.
"He definitely showed a lot of restraint in the situation. It could have been a lot worse than it actually was," said Ambridge Police Department Sgt. Brian Jameson. "Thank goodness nobody was shot."
Police say the robber was carrying a BB gun. Hayes remains in custody.
