PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - A 58-year-old man with a head injury was medevaced by the Coast Guard in a helicopter Saturday evening.
A crewmember of the sailing vessel Reindeer contacted the Coast Guard at 3:55 p.m. to report that someone had sustained a head injury and needed medical assistance. The Reindeer was about 35 miles east of Cape Charles.
The man was taken by helicopter to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. No further details about his condition have been released.
