Pedestrian injured in Virginia Beach Blvd. accident

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- A pedestrian was taken to a local hospital following a car accident late Monday morning that shut down part of Virginia Beach Boulevard.
The accident occurred in the 4000 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard near the intersection of Stepney Lane around 10:15 a.m.. A pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say that the victim is a woman, and that her condition has been changed to non-life threatening.

The westbound lanes of the boulevard were shut down between Stepney Lane and South Kentucky Avenue for almost an hour and have reopened. The Virginia Beach Fatal Accident Crash Team is on the scene investigating the accident.
