Pasquotank deputies looking for a man who allegedly shot his father

PASQUOTANK COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) -- Deputies are searching for a Bertie County man who they say shot his father during an argument Saturday afternoon. 

The incident happened around 2 p.m. on Crooked Run Road in Pasquotank County. Deputies say the shooting was a result of a family dispute. 

The suspect, Deonte Stokley, of the 3000 block of Sterling Point in Winterville, was gone by the time deputies arrived at the father's house.

Deputies have identified the father as Johnnie Johnson III, of the 600 block of Crooked Run Road in Elizabeth City. 

Stokley is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharge of a weapon inside an occupied dwelling. 

Deputies have also arrested a second suspect in connection to the shooting. Racquel Gibbs, also of the 3000 block of Sterling Point in Winterville, was charged with felony aid and abet. 

She was taken into custody in Greenville and released after posting $25,000 secured bond. 

Johnson was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
