DOBSON, N.C. - Authorities have closed part of Interstate 77 in North Carolinaafter a multi-vehicle accident involving deaths and seriousinjuries.
At least three vehicles were involved in the accident in SurryCounty between Dobson and Elkin on the highway south of theVirginia border.
The Highway Patrol says the wreck happened in northbound lanesabout 9 a.m. Friday near the junction with N.C. Highway 89.Southbound lanes were closed so emergency crews could have accessto the victims.
