OCALA , Fla. (AP) - One student shot another in the ankle at a Florida high school and a suspect is in custody, authorities said Friday. The Ocala Star-Banner reports the shooting happened Friday morning at Forest High School, which was put on lockdown. The injured student was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police say the suspected shooter is also a student at the school. His age was not immediately available.
Another wave of school walkouts is expected as students honor victims of gun violence and push for gun control. The latest protests are planned for Friday, the 19th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting that left 13 people dead in Littleton, Colorado. Organizers say more than 2,600 demonstrations are planned from Maine to Hawaii. Many students say they'll wear orange and leave class at 10 a.m. to take a moment of silence for victims of Columbine and other shootings.
NEW YORK (AP) - The Swedish-born producer and DJ known as Avicii has been found dead in Oman. Publicist Diana Baron said in a statement that the 28-year-old DJ, born Tim Bergling, was in Muscat, Oman. Avicii was a pioneer of the contemporary Electronic Dance Movement and a rare DJ capable of worldwide arena tour. He won two MTV Music Awards, one Billboard Music Award and earned two Grammy nominations. His biggest hit was "Le7els."

WASHINGTON (AP) - Federal authorities are offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to an American journalist who has been missing in Syria for five years. Austin Tice, of Houston, Texas, disappeared in August 2012 while covering Syria's civil war. A video released a month later showed him blindfolded and held by armed men. He has not been heard from since. Tice is a former Marine who has reported for The Washington Post, McClatchy Newspapers and CBS.
