BRUNSWICK, Ga. - A retailer is apologizing for selling Michael Vick jerseys andhas pulled them from Georgia stores after animal rights groupscomplained.
South Georgia leaders of the Humane Society and other animalrights groups complained to Florida-based Bealls Outlet Stores thismonth after finding replicas of Vick's Atlanta Falcons jersey onstore racks in Darien and Waycross.
Vick is serving a federal prison sentence after admitting hisinvolvement in a dogfighting ring last year. He also has pleadedguilty to state charges in Virginia.
Bealls said it ordered an assortment of Falcons jerseys for its29 Georgia stores with instructions that it didn't want any Vickjerseys. The retailer said they were included in shipments bymistake.
