YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) - Children from the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Youth Center lent a helping hand during a groundbreaking ceremony in Yorktown on August 29.
The new $3.8 million MWR Youth Center at Naval Weapons Station Yorktown is expected to take about eight or nine months to complete, according to spokesman Mark Piggott.
The center will have an increased capacity for 90 children, compared to the current 30. It will also feature lower water and electricity consumption.
