YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) - A lawsuit filed by the mother of a high school freshman who committed suicide three years ago was thrown out of court Friday.
Alise Williams claimed in the wrongful-death lawsuit that York County school and law enforcement officials failed to protect her son, Christian Taylor, from a bully.
Williams says officials failed to act after she reported in early May of 2010 that Christian was being bullied by another Grafton High School student. Christian hanged himself May 31, 2010.
The lawsuit listed defendants as Grafton principal Paul Hopkins, assistant principals Craig Reed and Karen Fahringer, counselor Joseph Erfe and Ralph Hood, a school resource officer and a York-Poquoson sheriff's deputy.
