SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Officials say a Virginia Beach man was struck and killed by a shotgun while hunting in Sussex County Wednesday.
According to Lee Walker with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, 46-year-old Kevin Brooks and a 70-year-old man were hunting turkeys just outside of Waverly, Va. Wednesday morning.
At one point, the two men separated. Walker said one of them saw movement and misidentified his target, fatally shooting Brooks with a shotgun.
Norfolk Police are investigating the cause of death for male found unconscious on the beach.
