VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A trooper was injured during a crash along Interstate 264 in Virginia Beach Monday night.
Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police said the crash occurred around 11:15 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 264 near Birdneck Road.
The trooper was helping with a Super Haul/oversized load when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2012 Chrysler traveling at a high rate of speed, Anaya said.
Both the trooper and the driver of the Chrysler, Randor L. Uzzle, Jr. of Norfolk suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash and were transported to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital for treatment.
Uzzle was charged with reckless driving.
