VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A man wanted for shooting another man walking from Lynnhaven Mall Jan. 7 turned himself into police Thursday.
Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said officers were searching for Torry Orlando Whitley, 24, of Norfolk. Whitley was wanted on charges of malicious assault and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Jan. 7, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Clubhouse Road after a motorist reported a victim claimed he had been shot. The victim was shot while walking home from the South Lynnhaven Road area and flagged down the motorist in the 3000 block of Bow Creek Boulevard, Moyers said.
The victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
