VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police are investigating a serious crash involving a motorcyclist Tuesday.
Tonya Borman with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the crash occurred around 12:05 p.m. at the intersection of 16th Street and Pacific Avenue.
Fatal Crash Team investigators determined a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on pacific Avenue when a 1998 Honda Prelude traveling north attempted a left turn onto 16th Street, crossing into the motorcyclist's path. The motorcyclist swerved, attempting to avoid a crash, but was unsuccessful and collided with the front of the Honda.
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Honda's driver, 19-year-old Angeline Venus Kintanar of Virginia Beach, was charged with failure to yield. Borman said neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
Borman said the crash is still be investigated by the VBPD's Fatal Crash Team.
