VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A new library in Virginia Beach is set to serve Tidewater Community College students and the city's residents.
The library is coming together through a partnership between TCC and the City of Virginia Beach. Both originally planned to build separate libraries, but decided to come together to save money.
"The library is 125,000 square feet, it's bigger than the City of Virginia Beach's Central Library and it's going to house more computers than Virginia Beach's whole system," Community Services Manager Neva White told 10 On Your Side.
The $53 million facility remains under construction and is set to open in August.
TCC classes will also be held in the building, which was also built ecologically and economically friendly, according to White.
