VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach police officers responded to a shooting near Virginia Wesleyan College Monday.
Officers learned there was an argument between neighbors on the 800 block of Liberal Arts Court, and one or two male suspects fired several rounds, according to Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police.
Tuesday, Tonya Borman with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the victim was identified as Troy Lorenzo Elliot, 28, of Virginia Beach.
According to Borman, Elliot kicked in the door of a home and fired shots inside. The occupant of the home got a gun and fired back, striking Elliot. He suffered minor injuries.
Elliot has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
Norfolk Police are investigating the cause of death for male found unconscious on the beach.
Several local families could be out on the streets by the new year, if things don't improve at a Chesapeake shelter.
A disturbing national trend has found it's way into eastern North Carolina. There have been reports of young men punching innocent people -- with the intention of knocking them out -- and the victims never see it coming.
