VIRGINIA BEACH, V.a (WAVY/ WWBT) - A Virginia Beach man and his brother were killed in Richmond Wednesday night following a dispute with a neighbor over dog waste.
Ahkeem Phillips, of Virginia Beach, was visiting his brother Ahmad Phillips at an apartment on Stockton Street. when the two got into argument with a resident in the lobby.
NBC affiliate WWBT reports the dispute was over the neighbor leaving his dog's feces in the hallway. The argument ended with the dog's owner allegedly shooting both brothers in the head.
When officers arrived to the scene at 10 p.m., Ahkeem was already dead. Ahmad was taken to VCU Medical Center, where he later died, Richmond police said.
Police said the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Randy Trent, was arrested Thursday night. Trent is charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Additional charges may be filed.
