VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A Portsmouth man was indicted by a grand jury in Virginia Beach on Monday for a triple shooting back in May.
Lester Ray Belmar, Jr., 28, of the 100 block of Albany Drive, is charged with second degree murder, malicious wounding and two counts of use of a firearm.
On May 21, Virginia Beach police were called to the parking lot of the 7-11, located in the 300 block of Lynhaven Parkway, for reports of a shooting.
When police arrived they found the victim, Darrel Spencer, and two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Spencer was pronounced dead at the scene. Medics treated the two other victims for non-life threatening wounds.
