VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A failed drug deal at a Virginia Beach mall Thursday afternoon caused false reports of a mugging, according to police.
Adam Bernstein with the Virginia Beach Police Department said an attempted drug transaction at the Lynnhaven Mall created a scene when the two people involved couldn't agree on a price.
Initially, Virginia Beach Dispatchers told WAVY.com someone was mugged inside the Lynnhaven Mall at about 4:45 p.m. However, Bernstein said the scene was just one suspect hitting another and then running after the disagreement.
Police have not released any information about the incident, yet. Stay with WAVY.com for updates as they become available.
