VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Thousands of people lace up their walking shoes each year to take a stroll along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. It's all for a great cause.
This year's March of Dimes March for Babies is Sunday, April 28.
For the past 22 years, there has been a walk before the walk, to help raise awareness about this worthwhile cause. Don Roberts and Jimmy Ray Dunn of country music station 97-3 The Eagle will tackle the 80 mile trek from Williamsburg to Virginia Beach. They begin on Wednesday and it ends at the Oceanfront event Sunday morning.
There will be meet-and-greet stops along the way.
