VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach police have charged a man with felony child abuse in connection with the death of a four-month-old baby.
Sergeant Margie Hobbs says the child was taken to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters after a 911 call was placed reporting an unresponsive infant on Jan. 10 at a home on Ocean Trace Lane.
The baby, identified as Aubrey Hannsz, died the next day. The Medical Examiner's Office will determine her cause of death.
Hobbs said Micah Patterson, 22, was arrested and charged with felony child abuse and neglect.
Patterson is the boyfriend of the baby's mother, according to police.
Patterson is being held without bond in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center.
