WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) - A U.S. Airman was reunited with his family Saturday at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
Air Force Staff Sgt. Kenneth Taiclet returned from eight months in Afghanistan and three months in Qatar, according to a news release from the theme park. He wanted to create a special memory for his children by planning a surprise at Busch Gardens.
According to the news release, Taiclet coordinated the reunion by exchanging emails with park officials. The surprise happened during a performance in Das Festhaus, the park’s German-themed eatery.
Taiclet’s wife was pulled into the performance before the surprise was revealed to the children, with Taiclet running out to meet them.
Taiclet is stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis.
