SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A 2-year-old boy is recovering after being hit by a car in downtown Suffolk Saturday morning.
Police and medics responded to the 150 block of S. Saratoga Street around 9:51 a.m. after receiving several reports that a car struck a child.
According to a Suffolk spokeswoman, the 2-year-old was in stable condition when medics airlifted him to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment. He suffered minor injuries, and will be held in the hospital overnight for observation.
The driver of the car remained on the scene of the accident, which is still under investigation. No charges were filed against the driver.
