SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The City of Suffolk has suspended all Suffolk Division of Tourism Swamp Tours due to the federal government shutdown.
The shutdown has closed the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, forcing the suspension of the swamp tours.
Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said this includes the tour schedule for Sunday, Oct. 6 and possibly the Sunday, Oct. 20 tour.
Additionally, all fish and wildlife management activities as well as public programs are canceled and public access to the refuge is prohibited.
