SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A Suffolk driver faces charges after his vehicle ran out of gas, causing an accident on Route 460 early Thursday morning.
Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said a Jeep SUV driven by Garlando Lowe ran out of gas and stopped in the roadway in the 4100 block of Route 460 near the Pruden Center. The Jeep was struck by a tractor-trailer around 3:45 a.m.
The tractor-trailer came to rest in a ditch. The roadway was closed as crews worked to clean up the crash, Klink said.
Lowe was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash and the driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.
Klink said Lowe was charged with improper stopping on the roadway and driving on a suspended license.
