PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - A dispute over feral cats has led to the termination of the Portsmouth Humane Society's executive director.
Jenn Austin was let go following the ongoing policy of staff members adopting feral cats, sterilizing them, and then releasing them into the community, according to a source. That is a violation of state law, and the Portsmouth Humane Society’s own rules and regulations.
The source told WAVY Austin was let go of for other reasons, as well, but those reasons were not disclosed.
