PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - 10 On Your Side reached out to the City of Portsmouth regarding a spelling discrepancy on city signs.
While covering a story in Portsmouth about a proposed recreation in the historic neighborhood of Truxtun, a WAVY crew noticed the city has signs up that spell the neighborhood two different ways: "Truxton" and "Truxtun".
The second version is the correct one.
City spokeswoman Dana Woodson told WAVY.com the city's sign shop is going to correct the misspelled sign.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation said work to secure the Bonner Bridge could take anywhere from a week to 90 days.
