PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Portsmouth police found a man shot to death in a parking lot early Sunday morning, according to a police spokeswoman.
Portsmouth emergency dispatchers received a call around 2 a.m. saying a man had been shot in the 3500 block of Deep Creek Boulevard.
Officers responded to the area and found an unresponsive man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest. Medics pronounced him deceased at the scene; he was later identified as 21-year-old Carlos Deundre Cooper of Portsmouth.
Shortly after police arrived at the scene on Deep Creek Boulevard, dispatchers received a call saying a man and a woman showed up at Maryview Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
Medics transported the victims from Maryview Hospital to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment. Their condition is unknown and police are not sure if the two incidents are related.
