PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Friday was the United Way's Day of Caring in Hampton Roads.
10 On Your Side caught up with volunteers at the EDMARC Hospice for Children in Portsmouth.
Folks from all across Hampton roads landscaped, painted and helped out non-profit groups and schools.
And those who received the help had one message for the volunteers: "Thank You," said Debbie Stitzer-Brame with EDMARC Hospice for Children. "That seems like such a small statement to say, but without their help and support, it's really about love and support and wrapping your arms around people and just doing some great things in the community."
The United Way started the Day Of Caring back in 1991.
A Suffolk house fire displaced a family of seven Wednesday morning.
