NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Just in time for some hot weather, a swimming advisory has been lifted for one local beach.
The beach area between 10th Bay and 24th Bay streets in Ocean View is back open to swimmers. The Norfolk Department of Public Health took water samples Tuesday afternoon, and found that bacteria levels had dropped to within state standards.
Signs about the swimming advisory are being taken down.
Health officials test the beach water every week during swim season, from mid-May through mid-October.
