NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Thousands of area runners and walkers gathered in Town Point Park Saturday morning to raise money for the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters at the 8th annual King's Daughters' Run Walk.
10 On Your Side anchors Nicole Livas and Tom Schaad were on hand at the WAVY-TV sponsored event that featured an 8k run, a two mile walk, and a one mile fun run.
Along with the run walk, the event included activities for the whole family like corn hole, hula-hoops, face painting, a bubble station and a chance to meet the CHKD mascot, Healthy Bear.
CHKD opened as an 88-bed hospital 51 years ago. Today the pediatric health system has ambulatory surgery centers, outpatient health centers and pediatric practices serving every corner of the region.
