NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The 'Rawhides' returned home to Naval Station Norfolk Sunday. Families greeted them at Chambers Field. These sailors have been working aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower since February.
Lt Commander Eric Bromley knows that his sailors' sacrifice is vital to the mission of the Eisenhower strike group.
"This group of sailors is pretty special, they almost more than any other group, they're just resilient and really work well together, and they really embrace teamwork," he said.
For some the job is not done, but for most, it is time for some much needed rest.
