NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk Police are investigating a shooting that injured two men late Tuesday night.
Karen Parker-Chesson with the Norfolk Police Department told WAVY.com officers were called to the 1200 block of Lead Street for a report of two gunshot victims.
One victim suffered life-threatening injuries, while the other’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Parker-Chesson said. Both were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment. Both are said to be in stable condition.
Police say one victim entered his estranged wife's apartment and struck Deone Montie Love, 27, of Norfolk. As the victim and Love fought, the second victim attempted to remove the first victim from on top of Love.
Love then fired his handgun and hit both victims, Parker-Chesson said. Love reportedly fled the scene in his vehicle but later turned himself in to police.
Love was arrested and charged with felonious assault and use of a firearm.
A Suffolk man told police an HVAC system weighing about three tons was stolen from his property sometime last week.
